BookCampTO 2013: Five Alive! How We Adapt and Thrive in Canadian Publishing
When: August 24, 2013 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm
University of Toronto

Since 2009, BookCamp events across Canada have been bridging gaps and building lasting relationships between publishers, authors, book industry professionals, and the general reading public. As our industry continues to grow and transform via new technologies and ways of connecting, these relationships must also continue to evolve.
On August 24, 2013, the Canadian Book Professionals’ Association and the University of Toronto’s iSchool will host Toronto’s fifth BookCampTO unconference with the theme “Five Alive! How We Adapt and Thrive in Canadian Publishing.” And just what is an “unconference” you might ask? For those of you new to BookCampTO, an unconference is a conversation, not a keynote, where all participants are encouraged to bring their own topics to discuss in an effort to further promote new ideas and leadership throughout our industry.
To register for BookCampTO 2013, and to submit your own break-out session idea for discussion, head to bookcampto.org and follow the links at the top of the page.
Want to volunteer? We need people to assist with registration, tweeting sessions, giving directions, answering questions, setting up, taking down, and more! If you’re up to the challenge, please email BookCampVolunteer@gmail.com.
